Name Change

This past weekend I went on a Women's Retreat with my church mostly because I hurt my knee and was on crutches and my mom couldn't handle being away from me while I was hurting. ( I love my Mom ) Anyways, I wasn't all to excited to go because my knee was hurting and I would have been the youngest person going, and it just didn't sound all that fun. Well God had other plans for me, when I woke up the morning that we were leaving for the retreat my knee was completely better (YAY God!!) but my Mom still wanted me on the retreat just incase it went out while she was gone. We drove for about an hour and half up to a little place just south of the Canadian border called Cedar Springs. Let me tell you that place has the love of God so infused into it, it oozes out of its very pores. I have never seen a more beautiful place or been more blessed to see such beauty that God has created through these people. Cedar Springs is a bunch of little cottage like houses hidden up in the woods surrounded by four stunning lake/pounds and a huge garden. I couldn't wait to get out of the car and walk through the gardens on all of the trails that were hidden through out the place. Luckily at one point during the retreat we were asked to do a thirty minute prayer walk with God. While I was walking and praying, and taking pictures (of course) I noticed this cute little gazebo, bench area that was surrounded by these gorgeous flowers that were a brilliant purple. Behind the bench was a little board that said How Great Thou Art in big letters and under neath that was a bible verse. Something dawned on my while I was standing there while I was looking at those flowers and that board, How Great Thou Art, it has a double meaning. It doesn't mean just how great are You, but how great is Your art, Your creation? Taylor Rae Photography was a name that never satisfied me because the name was about me, not Him. It felt very hypocritical, here I was saying that I wanted my photography to be about Him, but the name was about me. As soon as I saw Thou Art I knew that was what I was going to be calling my photography from now on.
